ABOUT THIS EVENT
Toronto’s Rise Carmine and Montreal’s Willy Nilly bring a couple stripped down sets (PG13) to the Dakota on a Saturday afternoon. Both bands are preparing to release albums in the coming months.
About the bands
WILLY NILLY is an indie rock/folkish band that began in Kingston, ON, in 2019, now based in Montreal. Their unique but familiar sound draws from a diverse mix of influences, with minimalistic songs being packaged alongside dense lyricism and rich harmonies. Laid back, chilling music that you can dance to. A move to Montreal delayed some plans for the band, but they're finishing up their second LP in the midst of some shows in Quebec and Ontario this spring and summer.

RISE CARMINE are swinging the doors wide open on the psych-rock scene in a new genreless world. With an unabashedly eclectic sound equally rooted in 90s alternative and new-age psychedelia, their sound can best be described as the perfect mix between Tame Impala, Radiohead, and Royal Blood. With the release of the first singles "Razorblades", "Do The Right Drugs, Kids", "Once A Lover, Now Undercover", and "Sadistic, (I Like It Too)", Rise Carmine is preparing to release a world-beater of a debut album in 2024.
